The Niger State Government has expressed its readiness to partner with professional institutions and organizations to promote professionalism and empower young people with skills for self-reliance and national development.
Governor Umar Mohammed Bago stated this during the book launch and award ceremony organized by the Nigerian Institute of Management in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The governor, who was represented by the Head of Service, Malam Abubakar Sadiq Idris, said the state government is committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen leadership, management skills, and youth development.
He announced that the government would purchase copies of the newly launched book and distribute them to ministries, departments, and agencies across the state. According to him, the book will help improve managerial skills and enhance policy implementation in government institutions.
Governor Bago also commended the Nigerian Institute of Management for its contributions to professional development and urged the organization to sustain its efforts in promoting excellence and professionalism in public and private sector management.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Niger State Chapter, Christopher Igwe, said the institute has remained at the forefront of professional development and ethical leadership in Nigeria since its establishment in 1961.
He noted that the institute has continued to advance management knowledge and has made significant contributions to national development through capacity building and professional training.
Dr. Igwe appealed to the state government to allocate a plot of land to the institute for the construction of a permanent secretariat in Niger State. He explained that having a permanent office would strengthen the institute’s capacity to train and retrain its members and support professional development in the state.
The event attracted professionals, government officials, and stakeholders who commended the institute’s efforts in promoting quality leadership and effective management practices in Nigeria.
