Abuja is abuzz as the Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Ahmed Abubakar Medugu, throws his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, and other candidates of the party.

In a bold move, Hon. Medugu vows to deliver the council’s support, citing President Tinubu’s transformative leadership and commitment to development.

The APC chieftain said they have put in place solid structure in AMAC for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, as well as other candidates contesting on the platform of the ruling party.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, the former councillor of Nyanya ward, said under his watch as APC chairman in AMAC, he has the responsibility of delivering the Area Council for his party in the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Medugu, who many of his allies refer to as a political strategist, said that the performance of Mr. President in the FCT, especially through the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has made his job very easy.

“Mr. President through the Minister of FCT, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has made our job very simple. They have done so much for the people of FCT; the projects are on ground for everybody to see”, he said.

He added that, in the entire 12 wards of AMAC, and 1401 polling units, he has put the necessary structure on ground for the success of their candidates.

“We have gone far in the area of planning as far as AMAC is concerned. This is because AMAC is like a state, especially in the area of population. Less than two weeks that the campaign officially kicked off; we have done a lot of work for the smooth win of Mr. President, and our other candidates. I had a meeting with my 12 wards’ chairmen in AMAC where I told them what to do.

“I instructed them on what to do at the wards level. I asked them to source for a leader of each polling unit for the entire 1,401 polling units we have in AMAC; which of course, they have submitted their names to me”, the party’s council boss said.

According to him, with the structure on ground, APC candidates have nothing to worry about as AMAC voters are solidly behind them; saying, victory is sure.

The stage is set for a fiery 2027 election showdown.
