The Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE), has inducted 8 new members into it’s fold during its emergency congress held in Abuja.

These are independent online publishers who indicated interest and purchased nomination forms when the association opened its window to accommodate more members who are qualified to join, based on the constitution ACOE.

The chairman Screening Committee of ACOE, Chux Ugwuatu who announced that the candidates were qualified to be received as full members, said that they went through a regorious screening exercise and have fulfilled all constitutional requirements of the association.

Some members took time to attest to the credibility and good reputations of the candidates while calling on members to receive them, because they have the capacity to improve ACOE going by their honesty, connections and years in the journalism profession.

They equally expressed appreciation to the Screening Committee for a job well-done in ensuring that only people with impeccable character are allowed to join the association in order to maintain the good standard ACOE stands for.

Welcoming the newly inducted members, the Chairman of ACOE, Comrade Sola Akingboye said they should be mindful of what to do for the association and not just what the association would do for them.

He said he has worked with some of them for many years and can attest that they are people of integrity.

ACOE is a professional body for independent online editors and publishers operating in Nigeria with its headquarters in Abuja.

The group also observed a one-minute silence in honour of the daughter of one of their members, Mr. Alabidun Abdulraman, who passed away over the weekend.
